Volunteer Internship Program - VIP

The Volunteer Internship Program (VIP) is aimed at giving students a unique, real-life, community-based experience while completing the requirements for volunteer hours, relevant course work and honours theses.

The VIP was officially launched in Tampa, Florida in August 2004 after a pilot phase in 2003, and received an overwhelming response. The VIP was developed through a partnership with the Center For Entrepreneurship and the Honors College at the University of South Florida (USF). In 2020 VIP commenced in Barbados. YEA! works closely with students of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus and the Barbados Community College (BCC) to complete their required volunteer hours.

YEA! has hosted several local and international students from across various colleges at USF and is now doing the same in Barbados. Each student was engaged in a hands-on, high-quality project, which in some cases was in a totally different area from their area of study.

VIP Barbados started with 15 students in 2018 and grew to 150 by June, 2021. As the program continues to grow, so does our excitement about VIP Barbados!
